We have been wiring machinery for over 40 years
Shield was founded over 40 years ago thanks to the insight of Renato Pogliani, who, after an experience in the mechanics and plastic moulding sectors, dedicated himself to the production of industrial machinery, later specialising in the manufacture of electronic components.
In a market still dominated by pneumatics, electronics was at the beginnings, so that the first business opportunities came from overseas and would give a fundamental impulse to the company’s future development. In its early years, Shield experimented, marking some milestones that would later remain as a de facto standard in connector manufacturing, such as LED instead of light bulbs.
A company that has grown over the years in its historic factory in Cavaglietto, in Novara area, halfway between Turin and Milan, expanding its staff and know-how, and consequently its range of products and customers.
These include the Sorbonne University in Paris, to which Shield provided catalogues to be studied, and the company that manages the Channel railway connection, to which the Piedmontese company supplies the sensors still in use today in the tunnel’s safety systems
The development of innovative and high-performance solutions for each cabling system has continued to go hand in hand with continuous support to customers from a wide range of different industries to the present day.
Shield’s more than forty employees work in a total area of more than 43,000 square meters, 5,000 of which are covered, in which offices are flanked by the factories where all the processing takes place and the warehouses and depots, where all our product stocks are located.
